Ministry
Overview of Parish MinistriesSt. Therese of Lisieux Parish serves its Parishioners and families by providing a Catholic experience through its various ministries. The primary ministries are Faith Formation, Human Concerns, Liturgical, Prayer and Parish Operations.
Faith Formation Ministry concerns the Catholic Religious development of our Parish family. This Ministry assists the Parish in establishing an active and fruitful catechesis as an effective priority for all clergy, religious, and lay people throughout the parish, and so will:
Provide an authentic teaching for the faith;
Guarantee the quality of education methods, texts and tools;
Oversee an organized, well articulated, comprehensive program of education and formation integrated in the parish pastoral plan that responds to the true needs of the faithful and its leaders.
Faith formation in our parish includes St. Therese School, Religious Education, Baptism Preparation, Confirmation Process and RCIA.
Human Concerns Ministry is a group of committees that are concerned with meeting the needs of the Parish and Christian Community as a whole. The members are committed to seeking Christian responses and courses of action in many ways. The areas under the Human Concerns Ministry are homeless ministry, bereavement, outreach to the seniors and Ill and assistance to our sister parish of Our Lady of Sorrows. The caring family of St. Therese proves that "many hands make light work."
The Liturgical Ministry is the central element in Parish life. It is the summit and source of our Christian life. In order for our parish to worship God fully, many people are involved. The Second Vatican Council called the whole Church to reflect on the role of the laity in the Church. It reminded us that all Christians, by virtue of their baptism, are called to spread the gospel, to continue the work of building the Kingdom of God, and, most especially, to offer worship. The following ministries are essential to the spiritual life of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish: Music Ministry, Extraordinary Ministry, Lector/Commentators, Altar Servers and Altar Guild.
The Parish Operations Ministry is comprised of committees that provide advice and support to the Pastor and priests. Parish Operations include the Parish Council, Finance Committee, Buildings and Ground Committee and Tithing Committee.
